LA Conservancy at the Million Dollar Theatre
LA Conservancy at the Million Dollar Theatre 307 S Broadway, Los AngelesFrom the deep, dark recesses of the mind of Mel Brooks, we bring you YOUNG FRANKESTEIN, a monstrously funny homage to the classic horror films of the 1930s.
Gene Wilder stars as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (“It’s pronounced Fronkensteen!”), a brilliant young scientist who inherits his grandfather’s spooky castle in Transylvania and accidentally discovers the formula to bringing the dead back to life!
With the help of his wide-eyed assistant Igor (“That’s EYE-gor!”), cheerful lab assistant Inga, and mysterious housekeeper Frau Blücher (cue the horse whinny), Dr. Frankenstein creates a scary but lovable monster played by none other than Peter Boyle. From secret passages and talking brains to musical numbers like “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” this black-and-white spoof of old monster movies is packed with iconic moments, rapid-fire wordplay, and affectionate satire.
Also starring Madaline Kahn, Marty Feldman, Teri Garr, and Cloris Leachman, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is a perfect afternoon treat for classic film lovers and comedy fans alike!
Newly added! Catch Fleischer Cartoon‘s Betty Boop’s Hallowe’en Party (1933) before the feature!
